Don't call me Chris--My name is Elvis.
Mar. 15th, 2002 10:37 pmTonight I got to sit and watch a couple of movies.
Apt Pupil, which I watched mostly for Sir Ian, having been scarred by some of the Stephen King films I've seen in the past. Directed by the man who gave us The Usual Suspects. I can understand why this one was not widely popular. It was brutal in places, and occasionally very difficult to watch. The ending is not a traditional happy ending. All in all, not a bad film. But... (Sing it with me, you know the words:) I liked the book better.
Then I watched Six String Samurai. This was a stark change of pace.
The ultimate American Hong Kong post-apocalyptic rock and roll Holy Quest movie. With a Russian surf rock band performing the soundtrack. This would make a fine companion piece to Wild Zero.
My appetite to run a campaign is whetted.
