The purging has begun. I have decided that in these times of the Gutenberg Foundation and lending libraries, I really have no need to keep the huge number of books I currently have in my library. So I went through and pulled out all the books that, while I enjoyed, I am unlikely to read again. Also those books that have been on my 'to-read' shelf with no sign of moving off.
I will probably take them to Book Buyers or Friends of the Library next Saturday, but if people want to rummage through them first then that would be great. There are far too many of them for me to make a list of 'what I got' so you're on your own there.

To follow:
CDs
DVDs
VHS tapes

*is jealous because she can't have a look herself*

I don't suppose you'd have any of the Dresden Files, books three and up? And if you did, could I convince you to mail them my way if I bat my eyes and flip my hair and maybe promise something more tangible in return? ;)

Unless Book Buyers has actually hired competent staff changed their buying practices in the years since I worked there, you will get hosed if you attempt to sell books to them. Unless the point is to get some cash, regardless of how little, I would advise you to donate your books to the Friends of the Library.

The main goal is to get them out of the house and lighten my STUFF footprint in case of moving.
If I do get a little money on the side, then the extra trip may not be such a bad thing. However, advice is noted.

I could definitely arrange such a thing. And not because I'm easily manipulated by a pretty face. (: Anything higher than three?

As many as you feel like sending. Brian and I have both gotten into Dresden of late, but I only have the first two books as yet, so if I can do a good deed and take the rest off a friend's hands, so much the better. I'd be happy to reimburse for time/postage - shipping to Alaska can get expensive, even using the book rate.

Hell, if you've got the first two and want to send them along as well, feel free - I'm certain I could find homes for my spares.

I'd love to check out the CD's when you get to those.

Groovy. I'll make a similar announcement, and we'll make arrangements.

I've got a few extra copies of #1, and I generally use them to give to people and say "You should read this series" and get them to buy the next eight.
I will expect to see some lash batting and hair flipping, though. (:
