Glad I plotted out an evening to do the discs. It took... five hours to finish and I'm hot and irritable but I didn't kill the kitten once no matter how much he deserved it.
I got to do gardening stuff today as well, which was nice. And I am issuing a wide open invitation here--I'm planning a trip to the Rosicrucian Museum on the 13th of April, probably early afternoon. I know some of my friends have interest in seeing the place, and I'd like to drag a group down there now that I'm done with the coptically oriented bad guy in my RPG. These two links should provide lots of information about admission, hours, location and whatever else. I think I want to get the Tomb Tour this time, since I opted against it last time.
As a final note before I do my LJ cut, I know Shrek won the Oscar for best cartoon. Do folks in general feel it was the best? I enjoyed Monsters Inc a lot more, but I know I'm not a Mike Meyers fan.

The mixes look great. And from the looks of it, I may want to talk to you some time when I'm over for craft night about getting copies of a few (including -- Are You Gonna Go My Way?--Tom Jones with Robbie Williams) things. I've got a shiny new cd burner and a lot (*mumble* *cough* 700+ *mumble cough*) of cds you can pick from for copies in exchange, as soon as I get my database updated now that I have a computer again.

I liked 'em both, but the thing I liked about Shrek was the deconstruction of the typical Disney animated film. They took all the conventions of the genre and basically kicked them in the teeth. It was clever, cool and very funny.

A hah. This may be part of the difference. I've been reading modern authors fucking with traditional (Grimm or Disney) fairy tales for about eight years now, and turning them on their heads. So it didn't seem that ground breaking to me.
Hmmmm. Maybe I'll try renting it again.

Actually, the screenplay was based on a book. A book you've probably read, knowing you. This brings up the age old question about movies based on books. I don't care about that right now because I have Hawaiian soap on my desk and am getting high on the fragrance.
