Let's all go to the lobby
Feb. 1st, 2008 11:51 pmI had a Coke to keep me up through the double feature. So now I'll probably be up for a while.
Seating was surprisingly tight for '39 Steps'. Next time no 'meeting in the lobby'. There will just be going in and maybe saving of seats if we're certain we know how many to expect.
I got to see 'Secret Agent', which I had never seen before, with John Gielgud and Peter Lorre doing his very best Ricardo Montalban impersonation, which was fabulous. The film was based on a Maugham story, and was a really interesting exploration about life during wartime and the difference between being a soldier and being a spy, and they were dancing with some actual moral issues and I was really digging it until the copout at the end which was very disappointing. q:
However, I loved watching these two movies, both about espionage and spies, and yet both so very different.
Next weekend, if I can make it, Rebecca and Suspicion.
