Being strongly identified with a trickster, I am expected therefore to work extra hard to day.
So, to fuck with expectations, I'm playing it utterly straight today. I will do my utmost to avoid sarcasm, irony, dramatic exaggerations and evasions. Given that I work in customer service, this could be interesting.

I stopped by the new MVPL today. I haven't even been inside and already I'm in love. I met the book return this morning. Instead of being crammed into a corner where people queue up and then can't get out after dumping their books into a giant bin, you now go to a spot outside the library (that looks like it's 24/7), with easy access. You put your items in a hole one at a time, the scanner reads the item's bar code and checks the item in, and then you put the next item in.
*Such* an improvement.

I also heard Vast's "Pretty When You Cry" thanks to Murdoch's VIP tickets to Death Guild, and it made me want to RP. Specifically, it made me want to run a game with an antagonist like that and hire a DJ to maintain a soundtrack and play appropriate musical cues.

Happy Birthday to you!
It's my grandpa's, too!
Hope you get snazzy shoes!
Don't be blue!
You have friends that are true!

Love,

Tess

I fucking HATE the new book return. It takes FOREVER. It used to be, you'd walk in, dump your books (barcode up, please) in through the slot and that was that. Now you have to wait in a line, usually three or four deep, waiting for the one woman with the two kids and the stack of picture books three feet tall to scan them all in ONE BY FRIGGING ONE!

It reduces me to swearing. It does. It might be different after the learning curve, but the whole "scan card to raise window" raises my blood pressure.

If it's actually your birthday, m'dear, and LJ says me sooth, then hope it's all pleasant and full of spiffy stuff.

While it is not my day of arrival, it is somewhat adopted. It's also the date I give to people who need a date of birth when what they really need is for me to attest I'm older than thirteen. (:
And your wishes are taken with the spirit of joy with which they were given.
