The baseball story is probably one of the most awesome things I've seen recently. It reminds me of an essay I read a while back on the importance of sports - they're not important for kids to play because they represent real life, as coaches would have us believe, but precisely because real life isn't about fairness and sportsmanship, and so it's important for kids (and adults!) to have that sense that there's something in life where these traits are encouraged.

I've been waiting to write a blog about that softball story for over a week and haven't found the time. I don't appreciate being scooped. I am assuming our readership is potential in different ends of many spectrums though so I will not press forward with a cease and desist.
