So my birthday is coming up, and people have started to ask what I want. Aside from the usual stuff (your time, snuggles, attention, stuff that costs money) I'm also thinking of a cheap GPS that I can stick in the car and maybe get lost less, I have some CD shelves to get at Ikea still, and there are a few things on VHS that I want to upgrade to digital (Jeeves and Wooster first two seasons, Empire Records). I'm still taking donations to the Windrose Travel Fund--all donations are still in escrow and this may be the year. (:
Aside from that, spending time with me is good, as is attention, compliments and snuggles.

Sounds like you have a lot in mind. How much does it cost to transfer from vhx to dvds I have many that I would like to do that with but haven't heard of a place here. I would be very happy to give you hugs and much attention but I am afraid that you may have to come over to see me. I think of you often. Love ya, Mom

If you can buy the DVD, that's probably the cheapest way to go.
In order to make a transfer of the one video that's not available commercially on DVD, we ended up using a DVD player and a TiVo with a DVD burner. Which was time consuming and would have been expensive if we didn't already have the equipment in house.
