Remember back when I pondered the wisdom of Sarah Palin accusing Obama of pallin' around with terrorists and men who give speeches about how much they hate America?
I'd forgotten all about these guys.

"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government. And I won't be buried under their damn flag. I'll be buried in Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home".

I think that, unlike McCain, the Obama campaign was serious about running a campaign that didn't devolve into mudslinging and rumor mongering.

I think that it would be very easy for the McCain campaign to turn any attack on Palin that went beyond quiet tea party discussion into "Picking on her, big meanies".

I also think that the Obama campaign sees this crap as the dying throes of an impotent little campaign, and the only thing they can do by attacking back is get themselves dirty and lose the respect that has been accorded them.
