Yes, I went to Baji's and ate all of my potatoes. But I ate half to two thirds of the omelette.* And I walked there and back. Yesterday, I biked to the gym and back. I didn't go inside, but that will come.

*I admit to a certain curiosity as to how this will hold up when I go somewhere that it's not convenient to take leftovers home. Because I fucking HATE letting food go to waste.

Something my mother once told me when she was watching her weight - "Better it go to waste than go to waist."

Good for you! It sometimes helps to start up slow and build towards your eventual exercising goal. And they've shown that a walk is just as good as a run, and biking is even better.

Good Luck!

(And it was nice to see you this morning.)

I'm having to unlearn the "clean your plate" mantra as well. It helps to remind myself of the likelihood that the leftovers will end up pushed to the back of the fridge and forgotten.

Any time I'm having trouble resisting all the yummy food, I will think of you and be suitably distracted, dear pie. (:
Left overs in my house could count on being et, but I have lots of friends who don't keep them because they'll never eat them.

Yes, it also helps to realize that whatever it is, if it isn't pie, it's a completely worthless waste of time and space. You can always send it back:

"I'm sorry, but this isn't pie, could you have the chef fix it for me please?"
"You ordered an omelette."
"Yeah, and it's not fucking pie, now, is it?"

Yes, I'm sure that the chef. . .
. . . .
I'm sorry, what did you say after "fucking pie"? I got distracted.

There's nothing wrong with leaving food on your plate. It's going to end up something like compost either way.
