cyrano: (Yeah. Thanks.)

This morning I got to my car and discovered that it had been broken into *again*. Quelle surprise, say my regular readers. Damage was minimal, and nothing taken. They just tossed the car and moved on. I want one of those window stickers like the "Baby on Board" ones except this one would say "Attention Fuck Monkeys: I have removed the face plate from my stereo. Plus, the stereo sucks. You are best served if you just keep moving."

Then there was the impatient prick in the car behind me who spastically beat on his horn because I refused to turn left through the wall of cars coming from the opposite direction.

The topper, really, was the guy in the SUV who decided that he was in such a hurry that he'd try to pass me on the right, just as the right lane was merging. He only pushed me half way into the third lane, but since he was driving on the shoulder doing fifty he spat a rock at me that put another crack in my windscreen.

Once I got to the parking lot I sat in the car and sang for a while, and so now I'm ready to talk to clients. My only hope is that I'm serving to draw bad luck away from any of my friends who might need it.

I don't know. There are some clients where this mood could be an advantage.

Well, you can take the hugs anyway...but if you don't want 'em, I can try to find someone else.

It can't be really soon, but I like this idea a lot.
If you get me drunk and try to take advantage of me, though, I'll have to blog about it.

This makes what, the 4th time your car has been broken in to? Everyone but kids and idiots know that auto burglary is a waste of time, but then stupid people tend to be the ones committing the most crimes. (Otherwise the cops would never catch anyone.)

I also have similar situations when I drive in "rush-hour" traffic. People are so rude and disrespectful, not to mention being a hazard to others. I'm sorry to hear about your windshield.

I believe we're at or near half a dozen incidents. Most of them involved minimal damage and nothing actually taken. I'm worried they'll decide to start smashing windows or slashing tyres, because they got bored.

The nice thing is that I think I used up all the suck in the first half hour. So far, the rest of the day has run at about the usual level. Plus lunch with Bryan.

See, I miss stuff and can't offer hugs that are time-appropriate. Maybe then these can be reserve hugs: ~hugs~

A thought on the car thing - since these folks obviously like your car for some reason, perhaps you should just get in the habit of not leaving anything valuable in it (which I'm sure you do anyway) and leave it unlocked? (Or do they vandalize it as well?)

That's actually one of the few silver linings--they don't smash a window to get in, they don't cut up the car seat or bend the mirror or anything.
There's two handsfull of loose change between the seats, and they've tossed that once before but never taken any. Plus there's the insurance info and title in the glovebox. Most of the CDs in the car are home made, and they leave those alone too. But I can't guarantee that somebody else who wandered along might show the same... propriety?
(At this point, it feels like a game--they can tell from outside that the stereo is disabled. They pop the lock, rummage around, find nothing again, and then leave. It is a non-traditional petty theft.)

I wonder what the car insurance thinks of you if, after having your car broken in to several times, you start leaving it unlocked?

In some cultures, I think you would be applying to the witch doctor to remove bad luck. I wonder if we can find one around here?

Honestly? I've stopped telling the cops. And if I'm not telling the cops then I'm not telling insurance. What are they going to do? Raise my rates? I told the witch doctor, and that's what he did. Oo ee. Oo ah ah.

Just leave a dollar on the passenger seat for them and leave the doors unlocked.
