Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you. *edit* Or just five words that I want to see your associations with/thoughts about. Or you give me five of your own, and I write about those. We're all about flexibility in this journal.

RightKindofMe gave me words to start this whole thing off:

Honesty
I try very hard, outside of the occasional diplomatic redirect, to hold to the truth. I don't always meet the standards I set, but given my standards I ought to be satisfied.

Questions
I'm full of questions. Sometimes it's idle curiosity. Sometimes it's not so idle. I think that one of the only reasons to become a History major (which I did) is because you've got questions. I ask a lot of questions to define situations that I'm uncertain of. I probably ask too many questions in these situations, because I'd rather be certain before I start than to make inferences and trust my own judgement.

Vanilla
I'm definitely not as vanilla as I was when I met her. And she definitely played a part in that, although not as directly as I might have liked. (: I've admitted to myself (and then to others) that there are certain things outside the mainstream that I like. And then I wrote about them. But I haven't acted on them much.

Gentle
Unlike honesty, I don't think I've ever criticized myself for not being gentle enough. Perhaps occasionally too gentle. I don't have a whole lot to say about this myself--it's kind of like asking a fish about water, I guess.

Ambition
This wasn't one I expected to see--she surprised me with the final entry. I don't see myself as an ambitious person--I'm not big on confrontation or competition. Advancement mainly serves the purpose of giving me more resources so that I can stop trying to advance and work on the things that really interest me, things like learning to play guitar, acting, singing, learning, telling stories, dancing... I have a lot of side hobbies.

Oh, okay, that makes more sense.

My hair is decent again, thanks to product, and as soon as I have clothes on, I'll work on the meme. ;)

Yay product, and its magical restorative powers! (The advantage of not having seen pictures of you is that I can imagine that your hair is always decent.) Something has changed around here, weather or something, and my hair has become very fussy. It no longer lays down when it's dry after it's been combed down wet--it's like I've gotten a dose of static electricity.

My meme doesn't mind if you're not wearing clothes. It's very casual.

Product is awesome. I have two that I require at every hair-washing to keep it from turning to a ball of fluff. My hair so fine that it will float up when clean, driving me mad.

Sounds like you need some of my product if you look like that!

Sorry, I'm old-fashioned that way. Besides, it's warm enough to wear sundresses, so dressing goes quickly.

I may need to investigate product, but I've never needed it before so I'm a little out of my element.
So are there other ways in which you're old-fashioned? I mean maths are a subject thousands of years old, so that's pretty old fashioned. But is this the extent of it?

Factor S makes a really nice defrizzer/tamer, which is one of my two daily must-haves. It's easy to use, smells wonderful, and does its job without actually weighting the hair down.

Uhhhh, hang on. Let me look up what I paid for it last....

I paid $28 for 200 ml and that lasts me forever, practically. I use a dime-size dollop for my hair. How long is your hair?

Not very, any more. This icon shows (awkwardly) my hair. It's up off the collar now.

You won't even need that much then. One bottle should easily last you a year. I would find it a good investment, and it's not so expensive that if you don't end up using it all that you would feel overly guilty.

It's easy to use too. After washing your hair, detangle it, put a just under dime sized dollop of product in your palm, distribute evenly through wet hair, and blowdry or comb and airdry. ;)

Hmmmm. I don't know in what ways I am old-fashioned. I am a weird blend of all sorts of things. I guess you'll just have to keep finding out. ;)

Oh good. (: I was worried that was a subtle signal to stop flirting when there was no response to this question.

*laughs* I never stop flirting, darling. I will flirt in the grave and in Heaven, if I make it in there. I am a born flirt. Sorry to disappoint.... ;)

And as for the disparate pauses, you do realise that I am trying to have lunch, write my meme answers, look up cost and size of product, *and* keep up with these convos, yes?

*I* have very little idea what you're doing. (: I just sometimes read too much into nonverbal cues. And I admire your multitasking skills--it's an area that I have no ability whatsoever with. I can't even watch movies and read email if either has a complicated plot.

And I don't think I feel the least bit disappointed, except when I heard you were old fashioned and liked to wear clothes. (: I say flirt on, dear Nora. I promise not to think the less of you for it.

My nonverbal cues are not always accurate. Please never hesitate to ask for confirmation on them. Even if I am furious or insulted or plan to never speak to you again (unlikely -- I'm a chatterbox), I will provide confirmation and translation of my cues as necessary.

Psssht, I'm not *that* old-fashioned! My best friend will confirm that I spend a reasonable large portion of time not dressed. I was just half-way through becoming decent, and did not wish to put it off before starting on the meme. See, if I don't carry through and dress after doing my hair, I'm liable to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening in a state of undress, and I figured I should put something on.

Aaaah, reasonably! That's what I get for doing this, the meme, holding two conversations, listening to music, playing Solitaire, doing dishes, and doing research on the internet.

Okay, I've never met you and you're already adorable. (: I think I'm going to enjoy having you on my friendslist.

*blushes* Most people would say that I'm weird and grammar-obsessed and a compulsive multi-tasker and a klutz, rather than adorable.

So if you're temporarily unemployed, you can come to LA and see me, yes? I promise, I'm just like this IRL, only more so.

....You know, that's not impossible. If we're discussing it seriously, let's take it offline. (And I'm leaving work soon, so probably this evening.)

There. Your associations have been duly answered and posted.

And yes, I'm serious, so get in touch in a slightly less public form this evening. ;)

Hurrah! I like to cultivate friendships with people who tell me what they think and what they're thinking. I revel in the certainty of the communication. And while I may infuriate you on occasion, I should hope it won't last.
And as regards the last paragraph, may I just say hurrah again for not that old-fashioned?
