I think Yahoo! has finally proven to me that it doesn't want to be my free web-based internet mail service. That or I've finally chosen to listen to it. Those of you still using the Yahoo! address, please feel free to start sending to cyranocyrano @t gmail d.t com
I will miss folders. I won't miss getting logged out randomly. I know it's not perfect, but it's perfecter.

You know, I thought I'd miss folders, but once I got the hang of "tag and archive" I really don't.

You can actually use the archive function with tags in precisely the same way you use folders. I have a number of things set to auto-tag and archive upon receipt, and they make my life inordinately easier.

I find Gmail's spam filters to be immensely better than Yahoo. For most spam...it probably never even makes it to my spam folder. I'm guessing that's the case. I use the Gmail account as my primary email. When I had Yahoo as my primary email...I got waaaaay more spam. Now that that address is established as 'good'...I can't seem to get rid of the spam...even with it going to the spam folder. I just don't have these problems with Gmail.

Also...I love love love their calendar function!

Install the "Better Gmail 2" add-on for Firefox.

It's got lots of great stuff, including "Folders for Gmail" that lets you next labels like folders.

I'm a big fan.
