cyrano: (Yeah. Thanks.)

I was *just* thinking "What other unexpected expenses can I not afford to deal with right now?"
And now, after spending an hour trying to get the laptop to reboot after it automatically shut down when I told it to stop doing that, I think I have a pretty good idea.

Fuck you, universe. I am *trying* to maintain a good attitude here.
The good news is that I *did* just move my current copy of my resume to email today.

It's the unexpected expenses that I've just been stressing about, given that I'm about to radically lower my available monthly funds for anything except a mortgage. If I just didn't have to pay for things like car repair or new glasses, I'd be fine.

My husband is pretty good with naughty laptops, want him to poke at it for you?

Let me poke at it a little, and see if I can convince it to behave? I don't want to make a fuss over something like an overheating issue.

Sounds like a good plan :)

Bah. It won't reboot. And I tried to reinstall WDZ and it threw up then.
I think I'm ready to ask R for some help. What's his hourly for a consult?

Can you come over Friday night and bring something to contribute for dinner and call it a deal?

Well.... Sun-Wed Ron has no time for anything beyond work and kids. Tomorrow Ron's got a meeting all afternoon for work, though it is his day off. Friday daytime is nuts. Saturday night might work, but he's picking up overtime Sat from 7am-noon, and after that he and I have plans until 5pm. The kids will be All Over him and won't likely let him concentrate.

I might be able to juggle my plans for tomorrow night....

Or we wait until next week.

And of course on Wednesday I have a houseguest coming into town. q:
I'm perfectly prepared to be patient on this, in hopes he can pull some magic off.

It's better for us to do it sooner rather than later. The first month the kids are in school are going to be hellish. Ron on his late night schedule, the kids on their early shift. It's going to make the lot of us cranky and sleep deprived... but we will see what can be done.
