Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
Oct. 26th, 2009 05:53 pmI know what you're all thinking, but this movie actually has nothing to do with The Thin Man. But don't be disappointed. It's still a perfectly serviceable 'two strangers meet discover they're perfect for each other and dump their current loser SOs' kind of film.
In a startling departure from type, Michael Cera plays an earnest and good hearted but ineffectual nebbish. And as always I love how easy it is to find parking in New York when you have the power of Michael Bloomberg and NY♥FILM behind you.
I liked it, but I'm glad I didn't rush out to see it in the cinemas because I would have been disappointed. Three wags.

Date: 2009-10-29 01:37 am (UTC)Also, Nick's friends always crack me up - and (as one critic noted) are some of the first "gay friends" in a mainstream movie who aren't "gay friends" - they're his best friends, who just happen to be gay, and that's cool (and even advantageous at points). It's nice to see how far things have come.
