cyrano: (My Last Spoon)
[personal profile] cyrano
Local celebrity and personal hero Edgar Allen Poe visits London and discovers the local customs... intriguing. Leslie of course needs to click on this.

Also? First run to Rasputin's nets me $180. (Of course, it also had half of my for-sale DVDs in it.) And I'll see if the library will take my VHS tapes.

Plus? I only spent ten bucks of it on new CDs (Arrogant Worms, Special Beat/English Beat, the Bauhaus tribute) despite being there an hour waiting for them to finish!

It's been out for a while--it's one of those Cleopatra records things. Usually there are a handful of really crap songs, a few listenable ones, and then one to three real gems.
The Passion of Covers
(The name alone was almost worth it.) I'd heard "Passion of Lovers" on the "Covered in Goth" sampler (which is *definitely* worth five bucks) and.... I'm going off at the mouth. Never mind. (:
I have a thing for covers, and it occasionally disturbs my friends. But they are weak.

I also have a thing for covers. :) And now that you mention the title, I think I may have at least a few songs from it. Sadly, a lot of those Cleopatra comps are very hit and miss. :)

Yeah, but (a) so are a lot of tribute albums and (b) at least you know what you're getting into. And every once in a while you get a gem like Ofra Haza doing "Open Your Heart".
(Of course you have a thing for covers. You have excellent taste.)
