Parking at De Anza--hell, just getting off the freeway anywhere near De Anza--is like... Imagine the Oakland Raiders are playing the San Francisco Giants. While the Rolling Stones give a concert. On the day before Christmas, at the Great Mall. And there's a gigantic ray gun from space shooting brain-destroying beams down into it all.

That's sort of what it's like.

Speaking of cars, I would love to get to know the family with this car: The license frame says USMC SEMPER FI and the bumper sticker says "War is not the answer".

Hmm. I've never had a problem in the parking lot I use (the one off stelling, next to the big garage. the only issue is that the damn slots are TOO SMALL, and it's not like I'm driving some huge-ass buick or SUV.

I used to live in that area, and yeah, traffic is a pain for the first couple of weeks. Then, it all seems to get better. I assume that once the "add" period is done, all the hopefuls stop running up to campus to try and get a space in the overfull classes.

A true soldier looks at war as an absolute last option. (Unlike the men who send our boys and girls out to defend their terrible ideas of "foreign policy."

Still, it does seem incongruous.

They do sound intriguing, unless you missed the other bumper sticker, that says "War is the question, YES is the answer".
