The smoke alarm is far less likely to go off at four in the morning if you cook supper/breakfast in the microwave as opposed to an unfamiliar oven.

Where's the new house? And what in the name of Merlin were you doing cooking at 4 am?

The new house is, for a week and a half, in San Jose off Alum Rock. The next one, which I have not yet set fire to, is in Lake Orion.
And I was cooking at 4am because I hadn't eaten in eight hours and I was starving.
