The bed frame has been reassembled finally, and once again graces my room.


In order to get it up the narrow twisty stairs of turn of the century doom, Chris cut the posts and inserted smaller metal sleeves into the core.


This is the view out my front window.


And, as might be expected, this is the back window.

That is, in fact, all they are. And the drop in the back is just a long bolt of sari fabric--back in Mountain View I had the blue satin running over the canopy across the bed and a forest green brocade running over the canopy down the length of the bed.

Lovely! :) I made a headboard curtain for mine with a huge piece of fabric I had bought for a dress that I never made, with quilt binding on the raw edges. And then I moved and put my pretty bed (which is only a full) into storage in favor of cochese's less pretty queen bed. :)
