You were right--I was gone.
Sep. 10th, 2002 07:34 pmI've been very industrious today, or at least I've gathered lots of information.
Found out that I think I can take off early for the training thing so as to have a day to spend with family.
Found out that the rooms at the hotel have dataports, and ironing boards and irons, and check in time is three pm, and there's an indoor pool and a hot tub and a weight room.
Found out my roommate's name is John Ostler, and he works at the spiffy new Denver airport. (Although I suspect that since it's been ten years it's no longer so spiffy and new.)
We're about two blocks from the Olympic Village, and about a mile and a half from the International Peace Gardens.
(425 South 300 West for those who know the area.)
Hoping that the actual classes are at someplace called Clark Learning Office Center which is about five minutes' walk from the hotel but since they're contracting shuttle busses I am dubious. I am also wondering if there are any nice and not horrifically expensive restaurants, although a $12 per diem is going to limit my extravagances.
I wonder how much social time I'll take and how much time I'll spend just kind of walking around and exploring.
Anyway. It is past my bedtime. I hope it's cooled down enough upstairs that I can go to sleep.

But I still love the pinwheels in the train tunnel.
