Girl with the Dragon Tattoo:
Wow. I think that's a good start. Warning: violence in this film is real. That's one of the things I guarantee will be lost in the American remake, which is a shame. I think that, at least once in a while, violence should be violent. But it was hard to watch.
Characters were rich. Plot was very engaging, even if the twists weren't all blind. There was a distinct lack of movie-manufactured moments and elements, which I didn't realize until after the film, but which I greatly appreciated. Four wags, plus an appointment to get hold of the first book.

Doctor Who:
All in all, enjoyed Eleventh Hour. I can't say I'm broken up about going back to the cute companion in a short skirt, nor about the Doctor taking off his shirt. New theme, new logo, new producer, new TARDIS interior (complete with lava lamps, typewriter, and bicycle bell? It looks like a Fisher Price toy.).... do we really need to gratuitously go with a new sonic screwdriver? Smith's new outfit makes him look like the guest professor at the academy. And I think I like that look. I'm a little worried about the whole concept of Amy Pond, the girl who's put her entire life on hold waiting for the Doctor. We'll see. (Fingers crossed for "no true love".)
