Word. There are ten thousand ways to say this; for me, part of getting it was the moment right at the end of a certain otherwise-forgettable movie... which maybe you haven't seen an I shouldn't spoil. But to imagine if the faces were a different color, and how differently society would react -- that's an exercise we need to keep making people do. It's something we're not past, not even in large part.
The people who really need to read that article won't. But maybe someone will read it, and get something they didn't get before. (Obviously not the first commenter above, though.)
