You know what would explain the handful of symptoms I've been seeing over the past couple of days?

KIDNEY STONE.

Uh Oh! I hope you feel better soon!

Already I am better. Compared to last night/this morning, what I am feeling now can be classed as 'uneasy discomfort'.

Dude, that sucks. Drink a TON of water, because the faster you can move water through your system, the faster it is likely to pass.

Trust me, I'm on it. I have a passing acquaintance with these unwelcome guests. Luckily, the screaming pain phase appears to have passed on in the grey light of predawn.

You're lucky. That phase is no fun. :)

The worst for me was being pretty damn sure I had a kidney stone, but the nearest ER was at a teaching hospital... which meant they wanted to run every test under the sun just to make sure... blergh.

Suck, in a dramatic fashion. The last time I went to immediate care, I sat in the waiting room for about... ten minutes, or twenty-seven hours depending on whether you asked me or my watch. They popped me into an exam room, and within half an hour I was doped up on morphine.

Ah, sweet sweet morphine.

You can drink lots of water, but if it's obstructed, the other kidney will just clear the water right through. Drinking lots of water doesn't necessarily build up pressure and push a stone out. But it's good to stay hydrated anyway.

And, from what I've read, it's one of the few things I can do at this point that might be helpful. (And I think it passed last night. Yay!)
