So Megs finally gave up and got sick of the whatever it is yesterday. No gaming. I went over to deliver juice to her (the maternal instincts kicking in right on schedule), and hung out and watched anime before Cindy took me over to Drew's to sit in the hot tub. And since I'd just done laundry and failed to put my money, my ID or my *KEYS* back in my trousers, I ended up having to crash back at Avalon last night.
Which meant I pretty much spent the day there, babysitting Megs and working on some new D&D-esq fantasy adventure game that got stuck in my head during the Algorhythm game. The idea is to have something very low maintenance that we can just sort of pick up and play when people can't make it to Wednesday gaming, or when we're between other games.
So anyway. Today was therefore the first day in three weeks that I haven't essentially been sitting by the phone waiting in case a job calls to ask me out. And of course it's the day that Jessica from HK calls and says 'call me back in ten minutes because I have a job'. Very frustrating.
Thought I'd found my Lee Press On CD which was lost somewhere over at Avalon, but it turned out to be just an empty jewel case. Sigh.
Got another lecture on how I should learn to drive. I was very polite and didn't bite.
And I got a new person in my 'friends' file today--I'm not certain who she is, but she's semilocal. (Santa Cruz)

Zydeco cover of the Kinks?! That sounds even cooler than the country-western cover I heard of Ozzy Osborne's "Crazy Train."

Speaking of music, did you get your delivery? If not, I think I'm going to need to report it lost. :-/ But since I played fair and square, and actually paid for the CD, Hilary Rosen won't be able to come after me when I rip some MP3s for you.

Speaking of driving, they have a cool system going here in the Seattle area for people who need to have a car to drive occasionally but who don't want to own a car. It's called Flexcar. When you need a car, you call in to make a reservation, they tell you where the car is, you go pick it up, and you return it as you found it when you're done. It still costs money, but they say it's cheaper than owning a car. Portland also supposedly has something similar to Flexcar.

Awrk!

No, in fact I got no deliveries. I utterly forgot about them! Bastards. I should go over to the old house and talk to the people there, if anybody's moved in.
