Having fought with the house network and Windows7 for long enough to drive the bloodlust to pressure levels where blood is spurting from my eyeballs, I feel I'm prepared to discuss politics.

Today I found out that Michigan doesn't produce a Voter's Guide like I got before each election back home, and so I was hoping for some advice on where people go to find out what's on the ballot, what those ballot measures mean in practical terms, who supports them and why, who opposes them and why.... that sort of thing.

I am looking pointedly at Nuadha Prime and hrhqod1 when I say this. You lefties.

I have nothing to contribute.

I'd like to help you, son, but you're too young to vote.

League of Women Voters usually puts out a decent amount of info online. Not sure if they cover your exact location.

I see someone has already pointed you to Publius.org, which is where I usually go to see what is coming on the ballot. It usually also includes links to candidate's web pages. The coming election is the primaries, so you won't find much in the way of lefties, but your area may also have some local issues voted on.

I had a chance to converse with one of our local state rep candidates for the Democratic primary and was pleased to find he was a lot more left than most Democrats and seems to be a pretty stand-up guy as well. He has some good ideas, so he gave me a reason to make sure and vote in this primary.

Is there a reason Publius has to have my name in order to work, instead of me getting my precinct and such information off my voting card? It makes me uncomfortable, although I have no reason to be.

Okay, I'm guessing that nobody actually monitors the Publius website any more. Using information directly off my voter's card or driver's license, I'm not in their records, and they're using an out-of-date link to connect to the Secretary of State.
