I'm out of luck, I am star struck
Nov. 16th, 2002 08:16 pmLJ entries haven't been high on my priority list recently; I've been working or resting or even occasionally socializing. Plus, it's hard to motivate myself to write an entry that's just bitching about what sucks.
And sure there's a goodly handful of things in my life that suck, and an honest man would acknowledge them and share with his adoring public and whatnot, but it's really tiring.
However, over the past two years (Yes, it's been that long I've been living like this, hasn't it?) the thing that has remained true is that one of the best things about my life is my friends. They are an amazing and constant source of support and love when the rest of my life doesn't feel worth bothering to live.
Tonight I had people over to celebrate my 33 1/3, just sitting and talking and sort of watching tv/movies. And it was really nice. I'd thank every individual who made the effort to attend, but (again) that'd be way too much energy and I don't have it. But I appreciated it and it was a lot of fun.
Side note: saw the Harry Potter thing this morning. You may call it damning with faint praise, but I liked it better than the first one. Felt more like telling a story, and less like 'here are some pictures from the book'.
Also, a welcome to Mina, who is new on my friends list. Dunno who she is, but she likes Wodehouse, Doonesbury, Dorothy Parker, Milk & Cheese, Jhonen, Sports Night and a whole passel of other things and so since she likes what I like she must be cool. Sorry you've stumbled upon the circus at a quiet time, but the center stage will light up again if you stay with it long enough. (:
