Next weekend on "How you met CJ"
Sep. 26th, 2010 10:14 amSorry, y'all, I meant to post this on Friday but things got crazy, as they are wont to do.
Here's the plan; I'm going to list all the stuff we're planning to do that are open events, and if you feel like dropping in, then I encourage it. No herding cats for me, no elaborate orchestrations. I like this plan, and I'm proud to be a part of it.
We get in on Thursday evening and either have dinner with our hosts or fall upon a convenient passer by at Gate C21 and devour them there in the airport depending on hunger levels. Plans are way too fluid for 'come and join'.
Friday we figure everybody will probably be at work/school and so we're going over the mountains to the Aquarium. If we bumped into people there, that would be exciting, but we'll be working off our own schedule. We figure on dinner around seven at Su's Mongolian Grill in Santa Clara.
Saturday morning at ten-thirty is breakfast at Baji's in Mountain View, with their fabulous fried potatoes. I'm saving a seat for Miss Friday. Afterward, we relocate to the rec center at Ebonlock and Tersa's complex for the big social event of the weekend: Rock Band Social! Tersa is graciously sharing her Endless Setlist Take 2 time with us, and people can play, or admire the skill of the musicians, or dance raucously, or be social entirely outside the realm of the video game. I'm told there is a swimming pool, and we can take advantage of that.
Tersa says: I have the rec room from 12-12:30pm until 8:30pm. But we have to clean the place when we're done. I'm going to plan on bringing snacks of some sort. You can mention the Rock Band Endless Setlist if you'd like. Can also bring over board and card games. There's a fridge and a small kitchenette. People should feel free to bring CJ-safe snacks that don't require any cooking and/or beverages, but anything they don't consume they have to take home. :)
After the party, I'm planning a trip to Thai City because I haven't had proper Tom Kha in far too long. (Yes, yes, extra cilantro.)
Sunday is largely set aside for personal engagements, but for nostalgic reasons I want to go to Satsuma in Mountain View (barely) for the Sunday night all you can eat rolls.
And then Monday we're off! If you can read this, odds are good that I would like to see you before that happens. Especially if I have a present for you.
