Into this night I wander
Oct. 20th, 2010 10:34 pmIt's dark; the only light is the ethereal blue glow of the subaquaeous lamp from the pool inside and the reflected light of Auburn Hills against the clouds. The lower half of me is submerged in the gently rolling hot water, while the upper half of me is tickled by the pelting, cold, demanding drops of rain that dance on my skin, fill my eyes. "Be alive," each drop says in its tiny voice, "this spark, this impact is to remind you that you are alive. Be alive." The continous soft melody of rain striking the concrete, the water in the pool, provides the harmony to their melody. "You are a part of this. You are an intrinsic piece of the everything." My obsessive focus, my worry and fixation on what will be, soon enough, forgotten minutiae, dissipates like the sparkling vapor thrown up from the water's surface.
This is an excellent reason to have a hot tub.
