I finally figured out how to put podcasts into the podcast folder of my iPod (the lovely and talented Miss Violet), which is of course completely different from how I put music in the music folder. And once again, I am forbidden to 'eject' the iPod because 'files on the drive are in use with another application'.

Now. I KNOW for a FACT that Apple forbids the iPod to talk to anybody except iTunes. So my only thought is that iTunes thinks that iTunes is using the files, except that when I shut down iTunes the iPod still thinks it cannot be disconnected.

Maybe if I just shut down the entire computer, then I can have the iPod back. I thought I had mentioned this problem before and was hoping that if I googled for it then I'd find out what I eventually did.

Alas.

UPDATE: Apparently? Shutting off Firefox was the answer. (I had windows open to Google mail, Yahoo! mail, LJ, Wikipedia, Demonoid.com, and OutOfPrintClothing.com. I have no idea which one of these pages was rocking out to my music, but I cannot blame any of them.)
