Playing both sides
Oct. 25th, 2010 07:26 pmFirst, some anti-Iranian propaganda I found through that capitalist running dog Will Shetterly:
Government's attempt to humiliate activist backfires, as men throughout Iran and the rest of the world dress in chador and headscarf in solidarity with not only the activist but also women. And to all you guys out there rocking the green hijab? I love you. (:
“In the mind of the Iranian authorities, women are inferior to men," he said. "The ‘men in headscarves’ campaign is also a refusal by Iranians to this patriarchal and obsolete thought. It is a strong sign of solidarity with the struggle of Iranian women to enjoy full equality with men.”
--Bahman Amini, Iranian publisher
And now I swing back to the 'Hate America First' crowd. I've been seeing a cargo transport van line around town, I don't recall the name or the exact wording of what's on their back door, but it goes something like "My USA--No comfort or aid to the enemy. No how, no way."
Now, keep in mind that this is on the back of a multi-axle trailer, the truck of which probably gets like 15 miles to the gallon. I leave witty rejoinders to you.
And on the back of an Oak Electric Service van that I was driving behind, there was a decal with an American flag, the legend over it reading FEAR THIS! And I have to say that I don't want Oak Electric Service turning my country into some sort of Christian God figure that needs to be feared and obeyed in order to avoid getting sent to hell. Of course, maybe they're part of the rebellion fighting against ZOG and the Jews who secretly run the country. There really wasn't enough information to tell. All I know is that there's a lot of stupid out there and I don't know why I end up behind it so often.
