Il Papa says condoms are good for preventing AIDS.
It's.... I mean, this is along the lines of the Vatican forgiving Galileo for being an unrepentant heretic in 1992. It's a step toward the twentieth Century for the church, and I approve.

Well, that's the thing. When the Pope speaks Ex Cathedra, he's infallible. So he can't say he was wrong, he can't say he's changed his mind, because then G*d would look like a schmuck.

That's one thing that always bothers me about orthodoxy in religion - are we meant to believe that the omniscient ruler of the universe just woke up this morning and thought "you know, I changed my mind about that," and sent the Pope a memo, or what?
