The Dude Abides. In Cyberspace.

He's also occasionally Ben Kenobi.

Much like my friend Kirby put it, this would be a fitting sequel if nothing had happened in the field of computing for thirty years. It's kind of like those fifties stories about the future, or "steampunk". And as a retro-futuristic religious allegory, it works pretty well. If you can navigate around the plot holes, which I did okay on.

Also, apparently programs now like to party, drink, flirt, and presumably screw. They've changed a lot since we were setting high scores on Space Paranoids.

The movie made me laugh, even if it might not have all been intended. And honestly? Watching David Bowie host Andy Warhol's party with a soundtrack by Kraftwerk in and of itself made the movie worth watching.

Yeah, the nightclub scene was pretty much worth the price of admission. Megamind still has it beat, though - that one managed to make itself worth its cost in the space of one line. (The rest of it was cute and entertaining enough, but that one moment had Brian, Adam and I busting a gut.)
