Went to see the new Mummy flick yesterday.
It had the same goofy backstory as the first, but it was just as easily ignored. Lots of fun, but it seemed far more self-conscious this time through. "We must have bigger stunts, bigger fx!"
All in all, it reminded me of 'The Mummy Meets Evil Dead'.
The cute kid was very good, though, and I was pleasantly surprised. Not cute, and not amazingly annoying and whiny. No spoilers, but I'd never realised how much The Rock looked like Rob Schneider.
l2g is giving a blow-by-blow of his Netflix stuff, but I don't think mine would be exciting or edifying. Lots of what I'm getting I'm getting to re-watch a film or to check out the special bonus goodies on a film I've seen.
But as a quick countdown, those films I've watched and sent back this month: Broken Arrow, Nick of Time (MmmmmJohnny Depp), Rushmore, Fargo, Fistful of Dollars, LA Confidential, American Grafitti. Currently waiting to be seen: Tomorrow Never Dies (MmmmmmMichelle Yeoh), Blade (because I can see it for free and turn it off if it sucks), New Legend of the Shao Lin (for Megs' upcoming RPG), The Thing.

Loved Rushmore. It's in my collection. Thanks for reminding me to add Bottle Rocket to my queue. :-) Did you know that Owen Wilson, co-writer for both movies, is the same Owen Wilson who appears in movies such as The Cable Guy and Shanghai Noon?

Shoot me now. I'm tragically underinformed on the topic of Owen Wilson. I'm going to put Bottle Rocket in the queue now.
