Stayed out late tonight, and I think I flirted with somebody. Their first night (they said) playing RPGs. Very very good for an RP virgin. And at the end of the night we exchanged emails, and I found out they're a tecchie--apparently some sort of stage manager for hire. (Have clipboard, will travel.) And we sang showtunes (Two Ladies from Cabaret). Or rather, I sort of sang because I still have this overwhelming fear of singing in public. I used to be in a god damned chamber choir, and I still won't sing in public because eight years ago I had pneumonia and destroyed my singing voice. Not even 'Happy Birthday' at parties.
Anyway. Charming, friendly and a devastating smile. I suspect they have a boyfriend though. Alas.
For those of you keeping score at home; between severe budgeting and creative finagling and help from friends I believe I have gotten myself safely (financially) through the first of April and its assorted obligations. The Lady smiles upon her favorite fool again--Bless her.
And, in case I didn't mention it, I can deal with David Bowie's Let's Dance period much better if I sing the songs in an Elmer Fudd voice.
Now it is far too late and I'm going to bed. Tuesday I find out what my new hours at work will be.
