cyrano: (My Little Friend)

And thanks to the generosity of my gaming ladies, I have an early birthday present--I'm a Mook, and I'm getting the new Deadlands book, cards, and dice.
I suppose I'd better learn the Savage Lands system. (:
Thank you very much, Tersa, Tavella, and Z-Amber. I miss you.

You're a Gumshoe at that level. And you're welcome. :)

Although I'm disappointed I either misread or they changed the text on it after I did so and the Companion is not included at the $75 level anymore but as an add-on. Because I really really want it but shelling out another $20 on top of everything else...grah.

I think the chart is off--the text for the $40 (or more) level says you get a PDF of the companion. It doesn't... make sense the way it's configured.

However, we don't have to come up with it all at once, so even if they say no pdf except for that one level, I can put aside $5 a month and pick it up later.

Yeah, and as much as More! Stuff! appeals to me, $200 for it upfront doesn't.

However, we don't have to come up with it all at once

No, we don't, but after having been promised flying cars, I need my flying cars. Fnrt.

Yeah, I understand. And it is still a weird set up for that. I wish that ebooks worked as well as actual books for gaming stuff. But until I can stick my fingers in the pages in four different places (or some other easily managed bookmarks) it's not the same.

I thought Kindles had the ability to do that?

(But I don't even have a piece of shit, I have to admire yours.)

I find the bookmark technology to be.... a bit clunky.

However, I will note that I read Kindle books and Nook books using free software on my desktop, and while the laptop isn't quite as portable, it does make those books accessible.

I just spent the last half hour poking at eReaders online. Augh.

And there isn't really a good way to decide between them, except maybe to flip a coin.

There is very little difference between the damn things. It's why I got both of them for the desk top.
But I do love e-ink.

Well, not the apps, the actual eReader hardware. I'm torn between e-Ink and something like a Nook Color or Kindle Fire.

Aaah. Then I say yes, go for the e-ink if you have any trouble with reading off a screen for long periods of time. The eInk is easier to read, easier on the eyes, and saves battery life.

Nope, I'm wrong. New home page this morning specifically states "Palooka and Shamus on up" for the pdf.
