Celebrity count is increased by one due to Claudia Christian's flight up to Eureka. And I managed to remain upright when she said "If there's anything I can do that would convince you to give me a seat on this flight...."

Low key birthday weekend, wherein I got a sizeable gift certificate for going to the movies and a copy of the Asian cut of Shaolin Soccer (which I had opined about for the past month or two and then posited that it might be what was inside the packaging while I played with the wrapping and Angie succeeded in not unwrapping it for me out of frustration) from the wondrous ladies of Chez Femme II, and Cindy turned my paperweight into a fierce computing machine with the Power of the Internet at my Fingertips, my housemate came home to see me, and Ellie introduced me to the mighty world of Mark Dacascos.
There was more fruit than a fruit farmers' convention at Casa De Fruta (today I had to toss two baskets of strawberries which had grown fuzzy enough they either needed to shave or become compost).

There's another opening for a supervisor at work. I'm tempted to apply for the extra money and career furthering whatnot. ($1.50/hr above base) But the hours would probably suck, I'm not sure I want to supervise people (particularly not many of the folks I work with), I'm not sure I want to make a career out of this, and I'm not sure I have the abilities/skills/knowledge to do the job. Many people have approached me and asked me if I'm applying for the job. My instinctive reaction is 'Hell no', which really ought to be a big red warning sign.

Hee. Thank you. I stumbled across Julian St (or Rd, or whatever) by complete accident, the one day I had in San Francisco. So. Picture!

Heh. I met Claudia Christian once myself. She was nice.

But mostly I'm here to say happy birthday remotely, since you won't be seeing me for a bit.

She seemed very nice, indeed.
Will I not see you because our schedules and geographies don't mesh or because you're being abducted by Navy SEALs and taken to their remote mountain castle in Bavaria?

Just don't get her drinking, for god's sake.

She generally goes after the women, then ;)

introduced me to the mighty world of Mark Dacascos...

To which you've been introduced to before, as he was in Brotherhood of the Wolf. And E's copy of Crying Freeman was sitting waiting for you to watch for several months. :)

This sounds less like a 'supervisor' position than a glorified what you do right now. I would say go for it. At least you can find out more details behind what the job entails, what the hours are like, and it's more money.

Wow. Dacascos and that hot Italian babe. I should see that movie again sometime.

And the job is kind of like what I do right now except that everytime something comes up that I don't know how to handle or it's so snarled and screwed up that I'll never get it done in the ten minutes before the flight takes off, I call a supervisor. That's the part that concerns me--the lots of extra paperwork doesn't concern me so much. I'd probably be working about 40 to 50 hours a week, but they'd be the 50 hours that none of the other supes wants to work since I'm the low man on the seniority pole.

The more I think about this, the more I realize this can be interpreted in some truly evil ways. Hope she doesn't have a good lawyer. ;-) ;-)

Also, the more I look at images of her, the more I think she resembles another woman from our common past. <wistful sigh>

Dude. If the lawyer's cute too....
(Hrm. Who do I know that looks like that?)

Q. What's a fermented drink made from a kind of fish?

A. Trout wine.

Subtle hint there. ;-)

Re. prezzies... I remember now, that's one reason I called you on Sunday. (You did get that message?) I wasn't sure I had your current address. Can you e-mail it to me? Or at least update it on Amazon.com? :-)

Oh yes! I had noticed that resemblance at one point, back when I was watching 'Arena' and thinking 'Dang. She's cute. I wonder if she's in anything else.'

And I did get the call, but my phone has been sitting in my room until this morning when I remembered to pick it up and said 'Oh! Messages!' And I should have posted my address and phone # in a friends-locked LJ post. I'll mail it to you though.

By the way, I hope you're keeping track of the birthdays for which I've neglected to send you prezzies. I owe you big time.

He likes Mark Dacascos movies.

It's like finding out someone you know eats babies.

Mmm. Babies.
And at least I like one Mark Dacascos movie. But there was a little too much plot in it, and not enough ass kicking. (It also had that guy from the Sprite commercials, and Brittany Murphy who apparently is The Next Big Thing like Ashton Kutchner whom I also have never seen in anything.)
