No hope, but no harm

Saturday was NERO day, and I got to bring in a RP character finally. Yay! It was a lot of fun. I have plotlines to advance, and backstory to haunt me, and I get to hang out with people and meet them instead of just hitting them with a stick. (: And I saw my very first character sheet, an indication that I'm learning more about the system aspects of the game. Go me. Mei and Luc both attended as well; our NPC horde swells with talent and warm bodies!
And afterward we went to Graham's for a pool party, and we threw Tanya in because it was fun to watch her splash around and squawk. And Scott grabbed my ass. I feel accepted. I'd like to have more social activities with NERO people--most of them are very cool and I'd like to get to talk to them more and get to know them better.
As part of my more traumatic birthday present, Luc is taking me out driving this afternoon to practice for the test.
And tonight is dead raw fish night. Yay again. (:

Same as the old boss

The housemate is watching the Harry Potter Sorceror's Stone DVD, and I'm finding that in general it suffers much the same faults I found in the film. The film was a torturously accurate recreation of the details in the book, and the DVD is a torturously accurate recreation of the details of the film. It's all very pretty and sparkly, but the most often repeated comment in the 'Tour of Hogwarts' is 'remember when...?'

We're gonna have a party party

Driving was very long because I took a metric ass-load of CDs to Rasputin to sell them, and it took like three hours. But Luc was very patient with it all, and there was a good deal of driving and all four of his tyres are still very full of air!
Then a whole bunch of people came to sushi and it was really neat even if there wasn't enough room for all the hot babes to sit next to me.
And I have cashed in on some lovely presents on top of all that. I got a lovely backrub from Hallie who is the best Earth Coalition Healer in the whole world, yay. Tersa got me my very own D&D book so I could quit scamming off other people, and Cindy got me dice so I could quit scamming off other people (pretty velvet bag!) The ladies of Chez Femme got me chocolate, and if that weren't enough they also got me shopping money. Mei has threatened to take me shopping as well, and I may ask her to help me get a new pair of boots. Mallen has made dark premonitions about a non-silicone related present that is in progress, and Drew has a scanner that it seems is destined for me. (: I'm sure there are many generous people I've callously forgotten, but it's late and I'm tired and I'm going to bed. I've gotten phone calls from my parents and my sister which I promise to return as soon as the world slows down a little.
