The housemate is watching the Harry Potter Sorceror's Stone DVD, and I'm finding that in general it suffers much the same faults I found in the film. The film was a torturously accurate recreation of the details in the book, and the DVD is a torturously accurate recreation of the details of the film. It's all very pretty and sparkly, but the most often repeated comment in the 'Tour of Hogwarts' is 'remember when...?'

The one thing that makes the DVD worthwhile is the extra footage of Snape taking points off Gryffindor. Whee!
