It appears we have survived the worst of the latest heat wave. However, it sounds like today will only be about five degrees cooler. The house is battened, curtains drawn, buckets of ice set out in the living room. The yellow eye opens--send us your best wishes.

A bit sharp

So far I'm loving the cheese poll. I hope more of you have something to contribute about your Gruyere or perhaps a feral Camembert that you took in.

If I want to just buy a new rear wheel, I can walk in on Saturday or Sunday.
If I want to try to true the wheel, it's a two week wait for an appointment.
Oh yeah, that appointment would probably be on a weekday because I imagine weekends are jammed.

I want to drive up to Sausalito on Sunday afternoon, leaving Mountain View around one or two.

I just realized that Bay to Breakers is Sunday afternoon.
How completely hosed am I?
My main concern is "How badly will traffic suck?"
