Oh hell. Locals? Advise me?

I want to drive up to Sausalito on Sunday afternoon, leaving Mountain View around one or two.

I just realized that Bay to Breakers is Sunday afternoon.
How completely hosed am I?
My main concern is "How badly will traffic suck?"

If you cross to the east bay and do the Richmond-San Rafael bridge to Marin, it should be better. I'd avoid the city like the plague on B2B day, although I don't know how late in the day it'll keep things jacked up.

My former assistant who lived in SF tried to get out that morning for a 9:00 start time training we were running one year. He arrived at the training at noon. I think he got home okay that night, though.

The website said Embarcadero was not going to be closed. I'm still concerned that traffic will be a frickin' nightmare, but I trust you as an expert driver.
