Quick stop in, and Truman Show review.
Yes, six years after its release I finally watched it. You know me, resistant to trends. I like the concept, a lot. But I must admit one of my first thoughts were 'If the producers are this clumsy, how did they keep it a secret from him for thirty years?'
Ed Harris as the director is just stunning good. The product placement made me laugh, especially the first few times. And it was nice to see Jim Carrey acting, although I am not similarly inspired to rent The Majestic to see him do it again. The ending was all stirring and heartwarming and stuff, but I didn't feel annoyed or bored, as I am often wont to do with Stirring and Heartwarming Stuff(tm). Four wags.
So who's up for Thai food on Saturday? Eleven-thirty sounds good to me, too. See you at Amarin.

Date: 2005-05-13 12:52 am (UTC)(I did love The Truman Show. Partly because of Carrey's performance, definitely because of Harris's performance, and not incidentally because of Natascha McElhone. Every time I see a movie with her, I think, "Wow, she's gorgeous. Who is she?")
