It's a double date for *you,* dear. But that hardly makes it a half-date for each of them. Hm. So...call it a fig or a kumquat or ... a berry delightful evening.
I thought a double date was an outing with two separate couples.
I suppose in a highly polyamorous group you could have a double date with two couples when each member of the pair of couples has separate interest in everyone there.
For example : Abby and Ben are on a date with Clara and Dennis. But Abby also dates Clara and Dennis and Ben also dates Clara and Dennis. In which case the double date could be a quadruple date.
I suppose, in theory, that if you are dating Amelia and Bernadette, and simultaneously Amelia and Bernadette are dating each other than I suppose it could be a double date.
I don't think they're dating each other yet, but they did seem to get along quite well. I'll wait and see how that turns out. (: I met both Rachel and Tess on OKCupid (a dating website) within the past few months. One has a husband and two lovely children, and the other has school, and I play secondary to each in turn. Rachel (Cerulean Me, in an above comment) said 'I want to meet Tess, make it so' and I dutifully did. (: And they seemed to enjoy themselves greatly, and I certainly had a pleasant time.
Very few details, I fear. (: One of my girls wanted to meet the other and asked me to arrange it. So we went to Su's Mongolian Grill and sat for a few hours and talked, and they didn't hate each other. (:

However, I understood, insomuch as the spirit rather than the literalness of the question. :)
