Back when I was in high school, our choir took a tour and on this tour I found a little mall-shop-like thing where you could record a karaoke style performance. I have no reason to believe such places do not still exist, but I haven't seen one since then. Does anybody know of such a thing?
And I'm finally starting work on the 'really sick and twisted love songs' mix, inspired by listening to 'Every Breath You Take' by the Police. However, I do not have any of the occasional lists I've made of appropriate songs, and thought perhaps my friends here had suggestions. Important to note: the accidentally creepy nature of the songs is important, so something like 'Run for Your Life' by the Beatles is a far better choice than 'Where the Wild Roses Grow' by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

Date: 2006-04-19 09:52 am (UTC)I remember those little "record it yourself" studios. I even have a couple of cassettes lying around that I did (she says, hastily looking around to see if she needs to hide the evidence). I haven't seen one in forever, though; I figured that royalties and copyright issues drove them the way of dodo.
