You obviously saved up questions while you were on vacation.... Things broke because you were not there to watch them and, like teenagers in an '80s movie, they got all crazy in the subsequent lack of supervision. They fixed themselves, again, through the power of '80s movies, because they have come of age and learned a valuable lesson. And you being blamed for not doing something while you were supposed to be not doing something is a classic '80s comedy punchline. So blame John Hughes or Steve Holland.
