So... according to this article, Appeals Court Judge Raymond Randolph says "Cuba -- not the United States -- has sovereignty over Guantanamo Bay."
I think that Fidel would be delighted to hear this news. I must be misunderstanding the ruling, because it's being lauded as a victory for the administration. Giving legal control of a US base to one of our longest, least enemific enemies would keep those terrorists from getting into a US court of law, but I'd think that a Cuban court of law would be far more sympathetic to them.

Lots of projects still not getting done, and I threw a couple of others on top of the bin while I was at it. But that TiVo certainly knows who's boss. And I watched GlenGary Glenn Ross again, which made me want to reread Speed the Play while watching Scarface.

Aaaaah. So they surrender the power but since they know that the cedee is in no position to actually take said power they actually gain further power. *That* makes sense. I was always far better at technicalities than realpolitik.
