I think the answer to most of the last five is "nothing" - I'm bad enough at talking to the people I like and want to spend time with; the ones that I'm done with? Get silence.

Yeah, it's kind of shitty, but I can't feel that bad about it. If it's important enough, they could contact me.

We were the wrong people for each other (he dreamed of being a professor, and I utterly despised college), but he had excellent taste, a great mind, and walled a significant portion of himself off from the world.

I tried for a year to get him to let loose, but it just wasn't going to happen. :(
