Stumble in my footsteps

So I'm no longer all alone in the house, which helps, but stressing about the test so I'm still awake. Exhausted, but awake.
Crobderg came to work to pick me up for a zoom up to the airport, where I began my hunt for the elusive Jamba. (I'd promised that I'd be at the airport with juice, and I'd heard there was a Jamba in the airport.) My first hurdle was finding the place. Not as insurmountable as the second obstacle--it was at United Flight Gate 80, which was on the other side of the 'ticketed passengers only' gates. I found somebody to tell my sad tale to, and she corralled a United employee to cross enemy lines and retrieve the secret formula. I didn't get either of their names, but I should call United and speak highly of them. I gave him money for juice for Tersa and Mei and one for himself--when he returned he was smiling and said 'This is really good!' Hah! Another convert!
Then I raced down to the gate, we secured our charges and loaded the wagon, and then I procured my loot.
Prezzies! Yay!
Tersa found a lovely CD of Russian choral music in a great big cathedral, and I played it as soon as I got it. She also got me very pretty amber jewelry (swoon) and lemon curd. And Mei brought home a handkerchief (it's been years since I had my own handkerchief, let alone one with lace trim) and a hand-carved wooden travel chess set (yay! horsies!).
And the cat is very happy that Mom's home.

Date: 2002-06-15 10:44 pm (UTC)Ahem.
Sorry. I'm doing a 'take the entire month of August off and drive' thing, so honestly, at this point, I don't /know/ when I'll be at Cyrrie's, and he's being very kind and not making me commit to a specific date. It would probably be better if I planned around you, perhaps.
Re: curd
Date: 2002-06-16 11:29 am (UTC)I'll let Cyrano know when I figure something out, which probably won't be for awhile as I have sunk voluntarily into a morass of laziness.
Re: curd
Date: 2002-06-16 02:16 pm (UTC)Since I'm starting classes again in Sept and figuring to take like 2-3 at a time, including summers, this is the last opportunity I'll have for awhile.
Anyway, so yeah, it's not like I mind /other/ people being lazy.
