Today was Day Five this week of getting to the gym for at least half an hour of exercise. Considering the target is 'three, or four on a good week', that's not bad. Next week, probably not so much, but I feel like I might have a foot hold on developing a habit. Fingers crossed.
Also, much like methadone, the Caffeine Free Sugar Free Everything Free Coke seems to be a useful tool in killing the "can i have a coke now? i could have a coke. a coke would be nice right about now. big red shiny can. mom. mom. mom. can i have a coke? mom? mom?" sort of urge, at least temporarily.

Now all I need to do is deal with the feeling that I'm moving the wrong direction and fucking up my life somehow.

I used to say "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" in regards to some of the darker periods in my life, until friends in nursing started naming debilitating diseases that wouldn't kill you but would leave you so weak you could barely move.

Getting out isn't the only thing that matters.

And yay for making it to the gym. I can see how next week might be problematic what with the houseguest and all, but maybe you could convince her to go for walks or something as a suitable gym-replacement. Don't you still owe her a walk along Shoreline from two visits ago?

I always thought it was, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, if it doesn't drive you mad." But I've always been congenitally cheerful.
