If I could fall into the sky
Jul. 4th, 2002 11:08 amI am all full of Nur Todly goodness. Contented me. With mouth on fire.
By popular request--birthday ideas, gifts for those lacking in knowledge or inspiration:
My Docs are about to give up the ghost, poor proletariat footwear. (I can't find a size in them tho. q:)
I could use more slacks--I have one pair of nice ones, and they're silk so they're not for every day use.
My Amazon wish list is here and has a metric assload of stuff I've considered wanting.
I think I've dealt with the car issue and should be reporting soon on a successful driving test. Knock wood.
However. The very best gift any of you could give me is a gift I do get, every day. Your love, your support, your hugs, your presence. The past year and a half have really sucked an amazing lot for me, and I do not exaggerate when I say I would not have survived it without the people I've chosen to include in my life.
You are all my favorite present. Happy birthday to me.

Date: 2002-07-04 02:02 pm (UTC)You've been the source of so much goodness in my life, I can't truly begin to detail it out.
I'm very very glad I broke the rules that first day.
"Art thou a witch?"
I hope you don't mind me sharing this... I refound it, just now... dont' know if you still have a copy, but it's one of my favorite fairy tales...
Love you, coyoteboy....
The Witch
When I was a boy, full of the freshness of the world,
I met a girl made of fire and blood;
she let me into the fire, but I could not reach the blood,
And without that to douse the flame, I burned.
She is a witch.
Then, with all the innocence seared from my boyhood,
I buried myself in the cool detached mud which soothes all,
near the stream in a secluded poison glen amidst the quaking aspens
Where I decided to build myself a fortress against more intruders.
She is a witch.
Luckily, noone came for the time it took to build
A tall tower, sturdy buildt from stream stones and cool alder;
And when stones cut me or slivers pierced my hands,
I remembered the one who had come before I could defend myself.
She is a witch.
Then one day she came to my hollow, as if she knew not its purpose,
Singing, "Cash or check, Number Please, May I Help You Sir?"
As she peered up at the blank windows I had foolishly left--
And as I looked out, I caught a glint of silver at her throat.
She is a witch.
I cracked the door, and from as far as I could stand
I asked her if it were so; She agreed, all innocence--
And as I snuck back inside the citadel, she smiled
A smile that stuck to my mind's canvas as I shut the bolts.
She is a witch
That night, she was still there, staring up at the windows
"You fascinate me." she told them, foolishly assuming that I heard;
And I threw back the bolts, opened the door, and peered out
Not realizing that the night is the finest time for a spell.
She is a witch.
Thoughts of her began to creep through the tower,
Smiling like new memory, laughing with echoes of a forgotten stream
And I would peer out the door to see the stream,
She would be there--sitting walking playing gathering laughing
She is a witch.
One night, when the snow feel deeply and drifted
like silent blankets around the battlements,
I met her outside to hear the forest speak;
And in a snow drift soft as a dream, we kissed.
She is a witch.
And I hid inside my stronghold, but it was hard to hide to myself
That something was disastrously wrong with my wals;
Sunshine would peer between the widening cracks
As stones ran to the stream and wood danced back to the forest.
She is a witch.
And on the night of the full rain, her spell was full wrought--
Stumbling through the darkness, singing, laughing, talking
Sharing whispered secrets as slowly the two became one
And the roaring of blood in my ears was the tower falling.
She is a witch.
Her spell is completely, she holds me in thrall,
Everything I was convinced I once knew about me is wrong
Because I do not see the things she sees when she looks at me
And for curious reasons, she does look at me.
She is a witch. And I am the better for it.

I was thinking a getting you a bucket of wasabi --- oh, and lemon curd. Don't eat them both at once.
