For y'all as is still keeping track. I'm on the lookout for a job--probably customer service, but I have a lot of skills I've not been paid for. And in Seattle, I feel like I need a job before I can look for a place to live. (Landlords get dicey about this sort of thing, don't they?)

I wish I could say we're looking for another tech here at Maestrosoft, but I had to work hard to convince them to give me the one minion I have.

That being said, I hope it works out for you. It'd be good to have you up here.

It will work out. I just have no idea *how* it will work out. It's a page-turner! (:

Not always. When I came up from SF to find a house, neither Brannon nor I had a job. However, we had savings and good prospects. Then again, our landlord is incredibly mellow, so we might have just lucked out. It's possible, though.

Ooo. That's promising then.

Ditto that for me. Good credit rating + glowing recommendation from previous landlord was probably what got me into my first place up here.

Unemployment benefits count, and so do savings.

Are you going to Seattle, then?

Wouldn't that suck for me? *sigh*

I'm going where there's a job, and where I know at least one or two people. Ideally, I stay in San Jose and go to school because the feds pay me to do so. If they screw me over, then I'm going to bail. Seattle looks possible--I know lots of people there (not as well as I'd like), it's a little cheaper than here, and I love the PNW.
(It wouldn't suck much less for you than me being in California. Miss you.)

Actually, I'd be able to see you when I come back to visit, which is way more often than I make it to Cali or you make it Texas, so that's cool.

I hope you go to school, though.

If I still was in a position (i.e. living alone) to be able to live that way, I'd consider getting a pickup truck, an Airstream to tow with it and a cheap gym membership (for the showers). An amazingly inexpensive way to live. I'd have to figure out where I could park it, but the trailer clubs probably swap that kind of information.

Oddly enough, I had considered that. I've already got the posh 24 Hour Fitness membership (branches everywhere, branches everywhere else opening soon). But the 'people I know' thing makes it hard for me to take up the mantle of Kane. I don't like being only.

Ah, gotcha. Never saw it, actually, but I get the cultural reference.

How about working for the State of WA?
Gov' jobs

Oo, this could be handy. I applied at a non-profit mental health provider today, up in north Seattle, and then looked at apartments in Greenlake and Capitol Hill.

As always, I point out that Pennsylvania remains a viable option if you wish to transfer to PSU and move, and then find a job. :)

(Love you.)

I am, in fact, applying at the Penn State website. (:
(Love you too. PS: Our waitress tonight reminded me of you. I nearly bundled her up and took her home.)

Yay!

Aww, re: waitress.

As regards PSU, if you transfer in as a student, sometimes it is then easier to get a job. So keep it in mind as a possible route.

Pennsylvania is a great state; I've always been very glad to live here. Old and charming but fairly inexpensive properties (as these things go), decent economy, natural beauty, fairly low cost of living, and pretty close to almost anything on the East Coast. The Keystone State, indeed.

I wish you the best of luck in all things, but we'll miss you if you move to Seattle.
