More 'people suck' news from Jackson County Mississippi:
School cancels prom for fear that lesbians might attend. The school board announced that they were forced to cancel the event "due to disruptions in the education process that recent events had caused".
Because, apparently in Mississippi, part of the state's educational process is teaching kids what you get when you catch the gay.
Pigfuckers.

I have been reminded that I should edit one of the above sentences to read "...apparently, in a northern Mississippi school district, part of the educational process..."
Just because somebody is from 'the South' does not mean that they're reactionary evangelical ill-educated crusaders trying to impress their personal morals on everyone around them. Those are just the ones that make the most noise.

Knowing what I was like in high school, my first guess would be that she found out about the rule or already knew about the rule and said "That is a bad rule and I want to fight it rather than sneak around it."
